Major Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Power Throughout Kyiv
Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.
Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered disruption to water systems, according to city officials.
Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.
Russian forces has intensified attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.
"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.
Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.
The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to restore power.
A series of attacks hit power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.
Several of the people injured in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.
Regional authorities said the urban area endured intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.
The assaults follow evenings of air raids in the area, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.
The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.
Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.
Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
